An opportunity for a Homelessness Prevention Officer
A Public Sector Client committed to providing housing services is looking for an experienced Prevention Officer to provide a professional, effective and efficient, customer focused housing options service to people approaching the council for housing advice.
Contract Length: 6 months.
Hours per week: 37 hours a week
2 day induction then remote working.
Negotiable rates based on experience.
About you:
– Over 2 years experience in Local Authorities , using knowledge of HRA 2017, and other housing legislation.
– Experience of conducting an empathetic and accurate assessment of the applicant's needs.
– Adaptable to a new team's ways of working and able to utilise experience of housing to provide knowledgeable advice.
About the role:
– Offer assistance, advice and solutions on housing options allocating properties for successful applicants.
– Working through a caseload of Homeless applications.
– Determine whether applicants fall under Part VII of the 1996 Housing act.
– Looking at all housing options available and preventing homelessness wherever possible either by supporting them in keeping their current home or in accessing a new home in the public or private housing sector.
