This role as Audit and Assurance Coordinator is working at a Secure Training Centre based in Milton Keynes. The company invest heavily in its people. The Secure Training Centre look after young people aged 12 to 18 years old who have been remanded or sentenced to periods of detention. The vulnerable young people in their care can be challenging with a wide range of social and emotional complex needs. This is an environment that calls for high standards of social care and service delivery to provide a secure and stable environment for young people to develop their life skills and address the behaviours that have led them into custody.
The Secure Training Centre works closely with the Youth Custody Services to ensure that its regimes and designs reflect best practice in residential care to prevent offending.
Job Outline:
The Audit and Assurance Coordinator is responsible for supporting and conducting internal audits, providing feedback and recommendations to improve quality and performance to the Centre departments. Lead on the Centre Compliance Framework and liaison with departments in relation to contractual compliance.
Key responsibilities include:
Working with the Senior Manager to complete centre audits in line with the annual programme (based on a local risk-based approach) and other contractual requirements; to include the compilation of reports; engagement with centre function heads/director to report findings, create action plans and undertake re-checks.
Provide data to inform the delivery of thematic auditing to maintain excellent practice, highlighting areas of deficiency to relevant senior managers in line with the internal programme.
Support staff in their understanding of the contract and the execution of their duties in compliance with the requirements of the contract. This may require training of new staff.
Collect and collate information provided weekly in departmental compliance books and lead on the Centre Compliance Framework.
Present the weekly compliance meeting to all department representatives – highlighting good practice and areas for improvement.
In line with the compliance framework, conduct dip tests to ensure efficiency and assurance.
Where required, provide daily, weekly and monthly data to inform updates of performance to senior managers through monitoring of compliance.
Support with any tasks as directed by the Quality Assurance Manager, or other managers within the team.
To provide general administrative support for the team and the centre overall.
Ability to confidently and independently use Microsoft Excel, Google Sheets, Google Docs, Google Slides and Google Email.

The successful Audit and Assurance Coordinator will have the following skills and experience
Experience of work planning, monitoring and reviewing of performance.
Experience of collating data and analysis of data and information.
Excellent communication skills for staff at all levels.
Desirable skills include:
Previous auditing experience.
Ability to use Microsoft Excel and Word, and Google Sheets, docs and slides.
In return, you will receive a salary of £25,000 pa.
