Health & Safety Assistant Opportunity
A Leading Social Housing provider are looking to hire an experienced and qualified Health and Safety Assistant to join their established team based in Buckinghamshire.
You will work closely with the Compliance Manager to provide a high level of service to the business.
The successful candidate must have experience and understanding of a professional environment, ideally working within health and safety.
Responsibilities will include:
1. Work closely with the Compliance Manager to provide a high level service to the Trust.
2. Provide administrative support to the Compliance Manager and Health and Safety team including organising, taking minutes and updating matters arising for Health and Safety related meetings such as Compliance Meetings and the quarterly steering group.
3. Liaise with the operational and Continual Improvement teams to test the integrity of the reports to ensure data integrity is maintained and KPI reporting is accurate.
4. To coordinate the day to day organisation, recording and management of the following key health and safety programmes;

* Inoculation programme for staff;
* Near miss, accident and incident forms and the highlighting and reporting any potential RIDDOR issues;
* Fire Risk Assessment Programme;
* Health and Safety Action Plan;
* Lone Worker System;
* Alarm activations;
* Display Screen Equipment Assessments;
* Risk assessments;
* Regulatory Compliance Reporting.
1. Supporting the development of training for Fairfax House emergency response teams by the Health and Safety team.
2. To undertake specific project work and regular tasks related to Health and Safety.
3. Work with the Compliance Manager to ensure successful implementation of Health and Safety policy and procedures across the business.
4. Maintain databases and action plans for fire risk assessments, the Health and Safety Action Plan and other relevant monitoring systems.
5. Support the communication of health and safety and performance information to a range of stakeholders as appropriate
6. To liaise with the Fleet Manager on Fleet related safety matters and ensure accurate reporting of near misses, incidents and accidents.
7. In conjunction with the Employee Development Assistant and Facilities Manager, support the provision and delivery of Health and Safety Training.
Key Skills:
* Strong health and safety awareness
* Health and Safety Training IOSH/NEBOSH (preferred)
* Ability to reassess priorities in a reactive environment
* DSE Risk assessment training (desirable)
* Experience in providing administrative support to teams
* Excellent communication skills
* Adaptable team member
