H9 Human Resources are partnering with a rapidly expanding national business seeking a Senior Training Manager for Operational functions. The candidate will lead a team of training professionals covering a population across the UK.
The role is a temporary conract position for 3-6 months with the possibility of being extended or becoming permanent. The role falls inside IR35.
Duties
Development of the team accountabilities and structure to ensure a best in class high performing training function
Identifying and proposing any training scheduling automation opportunities
Working closely with the central L&D senior manager to ensure training standards and outputs are in line with best practice
Building effective relationships with build partners and internal teams to ensure user requirements are accurately captured and that there is clear line of sight to the full suite of training packages support available
Ensuring that technical training needs are met with a combination of in-house resources, supplemented with a supply chain framework that can respond to peaks in demand with accredited levels of competence
Acting as ambassador for change, embracing innovation (such as VR and E-Learning tools), so that all training is delivered in a way that is engaging, accessible, up to date, and reflective of the business as a high technology business
Managing the day to day relationship with 3rd party specialist training providers in respect to training content, bookings and preferential rates, as well as ensuring that they have the capacity and capability to meet the needs of the business and its construction build partners
Reporting weekly KPIs that demonstrate quality and volume outputs, as well as communicating training compliance & regulatory/accreditation compliance
Identifying and assessing future training requirements as the build partner and company's needs evolve, and translating these into a clear training pipeline development plan
Owning the development and delivery of the Induction Programme
Owning the internal and external training matrices, which ensure there is clarity on what roles (internal and external) require which training. Providing rigorous governance to ensure all changes are approved by key stakeholders, and then properly communicated
Working closely with L&D management team to ensure Operational Training and L&D delivery outputs are aligned to the overall HR standards and strategic direction
Requirements
Ideally a telecoms utilities or construction background as we'll need you to have a good understanding of the type of environment that we operate in, and be able to adapt to a busy, agile and multi-site operation.
An extensive background in best in class training delivery and L&D best practice, including learning platforms/systems
Experience of operating in a high volume fast growth environment
Highly data driven, including forecasting and budget management
Ideally CIPD Level 5 L&D or equivalent training qualification (Level 3 will be considered)
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to motivate audiences at all levels
The role comes with a day rate of circa £300 – £350 per day or a possible Fixed Term Contract option
As a contract position this falls within IR35
