Senior HR Officer Duties
To identify, lead and manage short- and long-term succession and development plans as part of the resourcing strategy.
To coach and advise managers in the implementation of robust recruitment and selection processes and legislative requirements.
Coaching and supporting people managers to ensure an effective understanding of their role and responsibilities with regards to people policies.
Coach and lead managers in the performance management process to ensure all staff have clear objectives and development plans.
To advise, guide and support managers on handling employee relations matters in line with company policies, procedures and current legislation.
Support managers in employment hearing and appeals, providing senior advice and support, ensure all appropriate evidence is considered and advising upon policy and procedural interpretation and organisational precedents.
Providing support and guidance to employees on all areas of employment.
Ensure employment offers and associated checks are carried out in a timely manner with the appropriate paperwork being submitted.
Support the HR Administrator in maintaining Cezanne and ensuring all paperwork is filed in a timely manner.
Assist the HRBP with the preparation of statistical analysis of all areas under HR responsibility
To contribute to the updating and deployment of HR policies and procedures and SOPs as requested by the HRBP.
Develop, coach and mentor the HR Administrator in internal HR processes and procedures
To work as part of the HR Team, deputising for the HRBP as and when required.
Ensure documentation produced by the HR Administrator is correct and in line with policies and procedures.
To carry out any other duties as deemed appropriate to the role as requested by the Head of HR.
ESSENTIAL CRITERIA
Experience of partnering with line managers to carry out operational people goals.
Extensive experience in a HR role.
CIPD qualified – desirable.
Experience of facilitating workshops and discussions to enable decision-making.
Detail orientated, strong knowledge of Employment Law but takes a pragmatic approach to problem-solving.
Able to build positive relationships with a reputation for integrity and achieving results. Works collaboratively with managers at all levels.
Strong analytical and decision-making skills – experience of using and interpreting data and HR metrics to put forward recommendations to support decision making.
Excellent customer-facing and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and persuade others.
High level of confidentiality, tact and diplomacy when dealing with sensitive information.
Ability to work in a busy environment, under pressure and prioritise own workload.
Ability to use initiative and take responsibility with a positive “can do” attitude.
Ability to form effective working relationships at all levels and enjoy working with people.
