Our global client is offering a rare opportunity for a Learning and Development Manager to join their People and Culture team based in Milton Keynes.
The right candidate will be self-motivated, a good communicator, professional, with excellent operational standards and attention to detail, and should lead by example.
What can you do for us?
As the Learning and Development Manager you will lead the learning and professional development of the company’s teams.
You will be instrumental in equiping all employees with the knowledge, practical skills, and motivation to carry out work-related tasks, to deliver the required training by running a series of workshops in a variety of areas and to organise and manage any external learning and development.
The Learning and Development Manager will manage and support the ongoing, long-term improvement of employees' skills, enabling them to fulfil their potential and aid their progression. You will be strategic rather than reactive, assessing the skills and knowledge within the company and determine what training is needed to grow and retain the employee base.
You will manage the L&D function and work in partnership with Senior Teams to develop people ensuring a pipeline of managers at all levels whilst delivering the skills and knowledge required. You will liaise and have a good relationship with external providers
You will take ownership of the current learning system and work with Training to develop this system further. You will also be instrumental with the L&D integration into the group over time.

* You will be out in Ops when required, supporting any new or refurbished businesses, and working in partnership with the Regional Directors. So, some travel will be required.
Your duties will include but are not limited to:
* identifying training and development needs within the company through job analysis, appraisal schemes and regular consultation with Regional Directors, Line Managers, and the People & Culture team.
* designing and expanding training and development programmes based on both the company's and the individual's needs.
* considering the costs of planned programmes and keeping within budgets
* developing effective induction programmes & updating staff’s initial training requirements.
* assisting with appraisals.
* assisting with devising individual learning plans.
* producing training materials for in-house courses.
* delivery of training and development programmes and devising a training strategy for the company.
* Supporting, monitoring, and reviewing the progress of trainees within the Apprentice scheme.
* ensuring that statutory training requirements are met.
* understanding e-learning techniques, and where relevant, being involved in the creation and/or delivery of e-learning packages; and
* researching new technologies and methodologies in workplace learning.
Essential Criteria
* Training background and/or good understanding of the company and requirements.
* good level of presentation and delivery; and
* excellent people skills with an outstanding personality.
* Knowledge of systems, confidence using different packages and software • Maintain confidentiality and respect for all our colleagues
* Being able to delivery in front of colleagues and teams.
Desirable:
* Training, Learning and Development Certificates or Qualifications.
* L&D knowledge.
* health & safety knowledge and training; and
* NLP Qualified
