Summary of role
The HR director is responsible for overseeing and leading the people strategy in the UK. They will drive Group HR initiatives in the UK, ensuring that HR supports all employee matters, and that the business is assisted in achieving its goals while meeting the responsibilities to all employees.
As a leader and role model in the HR function they are also responsible for coaching, providing encouragement and support for the career development of the team.
The responsibilities of the HR director are, but are not limited to;
Devises up to date HR strategies for performance evaluation, staffing, training and development and health and safety
Communicates and collaborates with key stakeholders
Maintains expenditure within agreed budget and inputs to the annual budget planning process
Oversees all HR responsibilities for direct reports which include recruitment and selection, training and development, performance management and performance reviews
Leads the HR department overseeing HR strategy and initiatives
Undertakes any other reasonable duties/requests which are requested by the management
Motivates as well as coaches direct reports to prioritise productivity, service, compliance and people
Advises on employee relations and communication strategies
Continuously challenges the HR department to drive Continuous Improvement in delivering a quality service through the business
Ensures clear roles & responsibilities for all roles within their area
Leads by example with strong modelling behaviours
The skills and education required for the role are the following;
Degree in Human Resources / Business Administration or relevant field
Experience using Excel and Power Point
Excellent knowledge of employment legislation and regulations
A strong strategic mindset along with the ability to manage programs and lead staff
Excellent communication skills, including both verbally and written
Previous experience within a business with up to 2000 employees
This role would suit somebody who has excellent organisational skills as well as leadership skills with a track record in building and leading high performing teams.
