Yard Operative / Picker
As a Recycling Operative at our frantically busy operation in Cheddington (out-skirts of Leighton Buzzard) you’ll develop a strong understanding of recycling & sustainability.
Whilst we are a recycling operation, it sometimes gets very messy & dusty! But we pride ourselves on retaining a ship-shape & controlled environment. As part of a wider team of operatives reporting to the Yard Manager, you’ll be responsible for the upkeep of the yard by ensuring all materials are put in the correct recycling areas as well as:
* Unloading customers various materials & ensuring they are put in the correct recycling mass.
* Accurately pick from the picking line.
* Assisting customers on arrival at the yard.
* Any debris is quickly & efficiently cleared in preparation for the next customer.
To be successful in this role, we need you to:
* Be able to work at a very fast pace with a can-do attitude.
* Think on your feet when it gets busy, bearing in mind all areas of health & safety.
* Assist customers in a polite & professional manner.
* Keep going when the weather isn’t kind!
* Previous experience in an industrial environment is ideal but not essential.
* This requires physical & manual work.
We’re an established, hardworking & dedicated team who will provide all the support you need to ensure you’re up & running quickly.
You’ll need your own transport as we are rural & public transport is limited.
Hours: Monday to Friday 7am – 5pm with optional Saturday.
PPE will be supplied, however you must provide your own safety boots
