Insight Employment are seeking a Workshop Fitter & Welder for a client of ours in Olney.
Job Purpose: –
Our client designs, manufactures and distributes heat exchangers for many types of industries. The workshop fitter & Welder will be working in their busy factory, assembling, and testing products before they are packed and sent to customers. Due to the mechanical nature of the products, they require someone mechanically minded who is comfortable with general tool work, pipe fitting and welding.
Main Duties: –
* Mechanical assembly of their heat exchanger products and associated packaged products
* TIG welding of various components
* Pipe fitting, drilling, sawing and other general tool work
* Product pressure testing and quality checks
* Occasional site service visits
* Packing of goods for despatch
* Loading / un-loading of trucks using counterbalance forklift (if licensed)
* Using company vehicles for occasional delivery / collection to / from local suppliers
* Dealing with goods in when required – checking items before taking and signing for delivery
* Ensuring delivery notes are checked, signed & dated
* Overseeing any shipments leaving the factory and ensuring correct paperwork attached
* Notifying Contracts Team regarding deliveries for specific contracts.
* Ensuring goods that are for stock are put into the appropriate storage locations promptly
The above list is not an exhaustive list of duties. You may be required to perform different admin tasks as necessitated to suit the overall objectives of the business.
Qualifications & Experience: –
* TIG welding qualifications or satisfactory experience required
* Mechanical fitting experience required
* Full driving licence required
* Counterbalance forklift licence an advantage
* Previous mechanical assembly experience an advantage
* Mechanical qualifications would be an advantage

* Ability to work individually or as part of a team
* Good attention to detail and takes pride in their work
* Competent using hand tools and power tools
* Punctual
* Reliable
* Flexible
Hours: –
37.5 hours per week, Monday – Friday 08:30 – 16:30
