About the Role
This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Welfare Adviser to join our team.
The ideal candidate will have an employment history within the advice sector, with a good knowledge of welfare benefits, to work closely with our residents, internal departments and external partners and advice agencies.
You will need to be flexible and motivated in reacting to the needs of the service and must be able to work under pressure, demonstrate strong organisational and planning skills, be able to prioritise a very busy and varied workload and work as part of a team and on your own.
You must possess excellent IT skills, particularly Microsoft Office and demonstrate a high level of numeracy skills. We are seeking someone who is well organised, who can meet deadlines and has effective communication skills, both verbal and written.

On the Job you will:
Provide advice regarding all welfare benefits.
Identify unclaimed welfare benefits and assist with applications.
Identify digital exclusion.
Calculate affordability and provide advice regarding debt options.
Challenge benefit decisions and source solutions.

We’re looking for someone who understands how to connect with people and is great at advising, assisting and enabling residents with a range of welfare issues.

The minimum qualifications required are GCSE grade C English and Mathematics, Good knowledge of IT to include Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel.
