Our Milton Keynes based client has an urgent requirement for an experienced Warehouse supervisor on a temp-perm basis. This role is to support their E-Commerce operations.
Role –
To direct the operational activities in the DC, ensuring that team members work in efficient and safe manner to achieve maximum levels of performance
Accountabilities –
*Meetings with operational teams and reports required by senior management to maintain continuity in the business.
*Ensure all site-specific procedures are followed to deliver the very best possible service to all customers to all times.
*Understand and drive the service delivery to meet the business operational plans.
*Develop an effective working partnership within teams, characterised by trust, openness and mutual respect.
*Ensure all site Health and safety policy is maintained and enhanced, identifying areas for improvement, reporting any incident, near miss and communicated through the correct channels.
*Create a positive work environment encouraging high performing employees in achieving departmental plans.
*Ensure the control and allocation of workload to appropriate team members in line with requirements.
*To monitor and review KPI's, proactively looking for continuous improvement and cost savings to improve the business.
*Ensure accurate and relevant people processes are managed in line with Company Policy. E.G appraisals, Return to Work, Grievance and Disciplinary matters up to written warning.
*Demonstrate safe working practices, observing and coaching the team members to ensure a safe working environment in line with company policy.
*Be available for Team Members, listening, acting and resolving problems, queries or requests in a timely manner.
*Ensure that there are sufficient resources available to enable completion of daily tasks and maintaining forward planning of resources to meet business needs.
*Build a strong team and provide team members with the direction, resources and environment needed for success.
*Motivate and inspire teams to achieve extraordinary results.
*Communicate openly and regularly through team and individual communication.

Education –
*GCSE Maths C or above
*GCSE English C or above
*Counter Balance
*Reach
*Scissor Lift – (not essential)
*IOSH – (not essential)
Experience –
*H & S conscious individual with clear knowledge and understanding of requirements
*Preferably you will have previous experience in a warehouse/ logistics role at supervisor level
*Experience of managing people in a supervisory or managerial role.
*A strong and confident attitude
*Administration and computer skills are vital, good understanding of WMS is an advantage.
*Must have a high attention to detail, be organised and thorough.
*Must work well in a fast pace and highly pressured work environment.
*Proven record of leading a team forward to achieve results
*Previous experience in HR processes such as investigations, disciplinary processes
*Exposure to a distribution environment is advantageous
