Warehouse workers required for Annual Summer Series Project!

Gi Group are currently recruiting for temporary workers on behalf our client DRS who have an amazing opportunity to work in a brand new state of the art facility which has been purposely built for their annual summer series project based in Milton Keynes, Wymbush.

Who are and what do DRS do?

DRS have nearly 50 years' experience in delivering data capture projects around the world specialising in assessment processing and electronic marking of examinations. Our aim is to be the number one provider of eAssessment software and services. Why do DRS need you?

One of the most critical times in the year for us is the period from May to July when we are scanning and marking in excess of 7 million GCSE and A level examination scripts set by awarding bodies such as AQA and WJEC. Paper scripts are scanned, and the images distributed electronically and marked on screen by markers using our on-screen marking solution e-marker.

To support us during this period we recruit temporary workers to work in our brand-new state of the art operation in Wymbush to work 6 days/week day shift and night shift to deliver the results in line with the agreed timetable. These workers are critical to our success and it is important they share our values, work ethic and belief that every mark matters for every student. In return they enjoy our friendly, fun and hardworking environment. Workers tell us each year in our end of series survey that they enjoy working with us and many return year after year.

What is required from you?
YOU must be able to work 6 day or nights a week (Monday to Saturday) from May 2022
There are two shifts available:
Early Shift (7.30am – 5.00pm): Pay rate from £10.50
Night Shift (7.00pm – 5.00am): Pay rate from £11.50

Duties
Below we have a list of the types of different duties we require you to perform, please note you will not be required to complete each duty! Each Temporary Worker will be allocated to the area best suited to their skills and experience in order to make sure the operation runs as smoothly and accurately as possible.
Guillotining/Trimming of Scripts
Feeding examination booklets into the guillotine to ensure individual questions are cleanly and consistently cut for accurate scanning.

Return to Base (RTB) Batching
Batching examination materials into groups of 50 to return to the awarding bodies.

Runner
Moving work in progress around the warehouse on trollies. Ensuring the project continues to run smoothly

Warehouse
Sorting materials delivered on pallets into boxes, alphabetising, labelling and stacking correctly. This role requires a high level of attention to detail and the ability to read labels/codes and organisation skill.

Facilities
Supporting the entire operation in entering and leaving the building, dealing with catering, food orders and deliveries.
