Trainee Technician
RPS Occupational Hygiene division have a great opportunity for an Trainee to join the team
RPS Occupational Hygiene division identify, assess and control risks to workers' health from hazards present at their workplace. Occupational Hygiene issues commonly arise at large manufacturing sites and processing facilities where complex mechanical processes are in operation.
We are seeking an enthusiastic trainee looking to build a rewarding career in an industry renowned and growing team. The right individual will be fully supported with in-house and external training to assist in their eventual progression to the BOHS Certificate of Competence.
Main responsibilities
* Undertaking technical activities including face fit testing, LEV testing, indoor air quality surveys, COSHH assessments and noise surveys on behalf of the company once trained
* Attending site throughout the UK to witness these activities
* Providing data, samples for analysis and the provision of technical reports
* Progress reports to the office / line manager in line with company procedures
Requirements
* Hold a full clean UK driving license and willingness to travel
* A reliable team player with strong organizational skills
* Ability to work alone effectively
* Good interpretation skills of numerical data
* Strong IT skills in Microsoft Word and Excel used in the production of detailed technical reports to our clients
* Excellent communication skills both face to face and over the telephone
* An adaptive and flexible approach
* A science related degree or equivalent is preferred
