We are currently looking for a Software Tester to join the software development team. You will play a key QA role and will be coming into the organisation where you will be working on existing products and an up and coming brand new product that we are introducing, which will be part of a long-term initiative.

You will be involved in a variety of projects, both brownfield and greenfield, spanning a variety of platforms, from desktop programs through to websites and mobile apps. You will work alongside bio-chem engineers to develop test strategies and participate in all stages of software quality assurance.

You are not expected to have any bio-chem background and your main responsibilities will be based around functional, integration and regression testing. Designing user acceptance testing will be with the bio-chem engineers, however you might participate in execution of the UAT test scripts.

This role is predominantly manual testing, however we also have a Selenium based automation that we are looking to further develop with the right person, so if you’re interested in improving your skills as an automated tester then you will get a chance to do that with us. There is potential to automate many aspects of our testing procedures and you will get plenty of opportunity to propose and design new automations.

Key responsibilities:

Testing
Jira ticket testing
Functional testing
User Interface and User Experience checking
Compatibility and integration testing
Executing regression test scripts
Raising defects and retesting
Documentation
Measuring test coverage and prioritising areas of testing
Producing a project Test Plan
Writing test scripts
Managing testing related documentation and project folders
Reviewing project documents, such as URS and functional specs to write up Test Cases and Test Scripts and reviewing and updating Regression Test suits.
Progress reports during weekly project meetings
Participate in mapping out testing and quality control automations
Working in collaboration with Product Managers and Engineers in all test related activities including preparation of test scenarios/test cases

Essential skills:

Computer Science degree
2-5 years’ experience
MS Office suite
Highly professional, with excellent communication both verbal and written
Creative problem-solving skills to ensure the ability to translate technical and business requirements into Functional, Non-Functional and UAT Test coverage
Plan and organise test schedules, reporting of test activities
Exceptional attention to detail
Passion for technology and breaking things

Beneficial skills:

Advanced Microsoft Excel
Knowledge of Atlassian Jira or similar project management toolkit
ISTQB Foundation level certified
