JOB DESCRIPTION:
Axis International Security Services Shift Manager (SSM) will be responsible for the efficient and effective management of his/her team of aspects of physical security of the Axis operational site during their shift pattern. You will also provide a professional interface with the public, ensuring that the necessary protections are in place for the Axis International Security Services client's core business is properly and appropriately secured against any form of threat.
You will have overall responsibility for site-based and mobile security staff and direct Security Team Leaders & Security Officers. You must also provide assurances to the Project Security Manager (PSM) of the integrity of the corporate security systems and procedures in accordance with overall company and business requirements. The Security Shift Manager must be fully committed to supporting the core business objectives of Axis International Security Services, whilst obtaining the best value for money for the organisation. You will ensure that the security function fully meets this requirement.

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. To provide effective leadership to the security team and ensure that you report directly to the Project Security Manager
2. Resources are appropriately and efficiently allocated to key areas of work and those priorities are always covered adequately
3. All physical security to all on-site customers is delivered within The Axis International Security Services, security policy
4. All training needs are identified and processed promptly and undertaken at the appropriate time and records kept
5. Performance agreements, interim and main reviews are undertaken within the set time scale
6. All requests for annual and flexible leave is managed and controlled, ensuring that there is adequate cover to maintain services at all times.
7. Performance and attendance issues are addressed at the correct time, in accordance with The Axis International Security Services standing operational procedures
8. To assist and maintain the Security Operations SOPs up to date for use by all on-site security personnel to cover duties, individual instructions for each post; attendance; use of security equipment; dress standard; training, etc has directed by the Project Security Manager
9. To assist the Operations team in implementing security as a core business function to be adopted, keeping physical security measures under constant review to ensure they are adequate to meet current threats to business, evaluate changes, showing advantages and disadvantages, costs, etc and present to the Project Security Manager.
10. Assisting the Project Security Manager undertaking various tasks in accordance with the ‘Mandatory Requirements’ of the Security Policy Framework Document, including undertaking; security surveys, security risk assessments, drafting relevant policies and procedures, and compiling security reports

SECURITY BREACHES/INVESTIGATIONS:
1. Assist the Security Project Manager as a focal point for any investigations involving security; to prepare reports and note follow up action.
2. Report any significant security breaches to the Project Security Manager and Project staff and Services; undertake full investigation; recommend a course of action in consultation with Project Security Manager.
DISASTER CRITICAL INCIDENT RESPONSE:
1. Coordinate and control the security team under the supervision of the Security Project Manager, according to the tactical response, based on best practice standards of operating.
2. Control the security response to any incident to best reduce harm and maximise evidential recovery opportunities, whilst maintaining safety and business continuity.
EMERGENCY RECOVERY:
1. Participate in the role of the Incident supervisor during any incidents and emergencies.
2. Ensure that all business recovery/contingency plans and/or procedures held within the security control rooms are always kept up to date and to report directly to the Project Security Manager.
3. Be on call on a 24 hours x 7 days basis for any emergencies occurring.
TRAINING:
1. Assist that the appropriate level of training is provided for all security staff on disasters; fire and Emergency procedures; use of technical equipment and routine security duties.
2. Assist that knowledge is tested several times per year, as directed by the Project Security Manager.
3. Help to maintain the security team training plans up to date for all security staff and to test their knowledge of procedures regularly
