Gi Group have a great opportunity available for you to work at DRS as part of their annual summer series project. You will be based in a brand new state of the art facility which has been purposely built for the project based in Milton Keynes, Wymbush.

Who are DRS and what do they do?
DRS have nearly 50 years' experience in delivering data capture projects around the world specialising in assessment processing and electronic marking of examinations. Our aim is to be the number one provider of eAssessment software and services. This is delivered through Operational Excellence using continuous improvement processes and our core values of Inspiring, Clarity, Simplicity, Ingenuity and Together which are at the heart of everything we do.

Why do DRS need you?
One of the most critical times in the year for us is the period from May to July when we are scanning and marking in excess of 7 million GCSE and A level examination scripts set by awarding bodies such as AQA and WJEC. Paper scripts are scanned, and the images distributed electronically and marked on screen by markers using our on-screen marking solution e-marker.

To support us during this period we recruit temporary workers to work in our brand-new state of the art operation in Wymbush to work 6 day or night shifts (Monday to Saturday) in order to deliver the results in line with the agreed timetable. These workers are critical to our success and it is important they share our values, work ethic and belief that every mark matters for every student. In return they enjoy our friendly, fun and hardworking environment. Workers tell us each year in our end of series survey that they enjoy working with us and many return year after year.

What is required from you?
All candidates must be able to demonstrate a good attention to detail and high concentration levels as you will be required to spot mistakes.
YOU must be able to work 6 days a week (Monday to Saturday) from May 2022
There are two shifts available:
Early Shift (7.30am – 5.00pm): Pay rate from £10.50
Night Shift (7.00pm – 5.00am): Pay rate from £11.50

Duties
Below we have a list of the types of different duties we require you to perform, please note you will not be required to complete each duty! Each Temporary Worker will be allocated to the area best suited to their skills and experience in order to make sure the operation runs as smoothly and accurately as possible.

Logging
Scanning the barcode from the Centre, School or College to check scripts match the enrolment data provided by the awarding body and producing and printing a barcode label to track the scripts though the process.

Scanning
Passing scripts through the scanners to capture the images ready for electronic marking. This includes checking the barcode to ensure the batch loaded is correct and reloading scripts if they are not in the correct or are or upside down.

Mini Duties- (miniature version of operation where small projects are processed away from the main area)
