Leachate Treatment Plant Manager

Our client, a leading waste operator, is looking to recruit a Leachate Treatment Plant Manager.

Key duties and responsibilities:

* To manage and operate biological treatment, ultrafiltration and reverse osmosis based wastewater treatment plants including operation of PC based software control and monitoring systems.

* To undertake routine laboratory testing of inputs and outputs from the facilities.

* To undertake routine monitoring of process plant (pumps, mixers etc.) and the treatment site as a whole to ensure safe and compliant with operating permits.

* To undertake routine maintenance including cleaning, lubrication, pump and valve replacements.

* To organise and manage contractors required to work at the sites under their control.

* To keep and maintain records of operations, maintenance and monitoring undertaken.

* Specialist training (including maintaining waste treatment technical competence) will be undertaken and suitable records will be required to be maintained.

Candidate requirements:

* HNC or Degree qualified in science or engineering discipline OR experience of process plant control and operation.

* Practical, hands on approach, with knowledge of pumps, mixers, aerators or similar equipment.

* Knowledge of basic laboratory techniques, biological treatment and/or ultrafiltration or reverse osmosis.

* COTC non-hazardous (or hazardous) waste treatment operations or other suitable experience acceptable to Environment Regulator.

* Ability to work on own and self-motivated

* Organised, able to collate and interpret data and write reports

* Able to respond at unsocial times to ensure treatment facilities continue to operate effectively

* Driving licence (the role will involve working on a number of sites at different locations).
