An HSE Manager position which offers the opportunity for you to join a well-established company. You will be based in Milton Keynes but overseeing another site in the catchment area & you have the chance to lead them as they go through an exciting transition. You will be instrumental in developing an HSE plan & wider group HSE strategy.

As the HSE Manager, you will be leading sites, examining starting points & establishing where improvements can be made, ensuring best practice adoption across the organisation.
Description
This is a leadership role, where you will co-ordinate the activities of the site HSE coordiantors in the manufacturing operation & the field-based engineers. You will be facilitating & implementing the organisational health and safety policies & driving a culture of behavioural safety. As the HSE Manager you will be providing technical health & safety support & engage the workforce on the businesses' health, safety & environmental journey.
Key Responsibilities:
Create, implement & manage both the health & safety strategy and the day-to-day activity, delegating & involving your direct reports as appropriate.
Advise on health & safety legislation & practical implications.
Ensuring that compliance issues are adhered to, for example RIDDOR and accident reporting.
Have a shop floor presence to ensure health & safety standards are being met by stakeholders.
Quarterly health & safety audits and escalation of non-compliances.
Reporting & investigation of claims, near misses, accidents/incidents both site based and customer related.
Review associated controls & share key learns with relevant line management.
Hazard identification and engaging with Managers to minimise risk and ensure controls are embedded.
Ensure systems for auditing and reviewing health & safety performance are in place & are being adhered to.
Ensure the completion of necessary statutory assessments (noise, LOLER, DSEAR, fire, COSHH etc.) using internal or external resources as necessary.
Manage the annual renewal process for our on-line customer health & safety accreditations.
Take a key role in our on-site production audits.
Create and run training sessions to increase manager Health & Safety awareness – for example risk assessment, COSHH, accident investigation, manual handling and near miss/hazard spotting.
Champion environmental & sustainability initiatives
Assist the Site Manager with managing the site's environmental impacts & aspects, ensuring continuous improvement.
Responsible for environment reporting. E.g. Streamlined Energy and Carbon Reporting, ESOS etc.
Manage and maintain the ISO14001 certification.
Liaison with statutory authorities, customers, Insurers and other stakeholders.
Head up the main health & safety committees and organisation of committee meetings/actions.
Create value adding initiatives
THIS ROLE WILL REQUIRE INFREQUENT TRAVEL TO ANOTHER SITE IN THE AREA
Profile
A Health & Safety/HSE professional with experience within food manufacturing & the following:
NEBOSH qualified or qualified by experience
Sound understanding of current HSE legislation & compliance
Ability to lead and motivate others to continually improve performance.
Ability to work in a collaborate way with all stakeholders & engage people
Excellent communication skills with a collaborative style
Experience with ISO 14001 & implementing management systems preferred
Job Offer
