Highways Inspector

Salary: £25,000 – £29,000 depending on experience

Benefits: Access to Pool Van with Fuel Card, Overtime

Hours: Mon-Fri, 8.00am-5.00pm

Location: Milton Keynes, MK6 1LY

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Highways Inspector to join our established inspections team in Milton Keynes. You would be responsible for undertaking Safety and Service Inspections and gathering Asset / Defect information across the Milton Keynes highway network. The successful candidate will have proven highways knowledge and previously completed data gathering or surveying on highways and be willing to spend most of their working day on foot or bike in all weather conditions.

The successful candidate will have;

Proven highway knowledge
Previous experience completing road surveys
NRSWA Certification
CSCS Card
Ability to accurately collect asset and defect information
Good fitness levels and willingness to work outdoors
Strong IT Skills – MS Office, Confirm, Use of Handheld PDA
Full, Clean – UK driving licence

You would be responsible for;

Performing and accurately report Safety and Service Inspections
Performing walked, cylced and driven highway inspections working alone and alongside others
Overseeing an Assistant Highway Inspector as necessary
Ensuring inspection processes and procedures are being followed
Updating databases and other digitised data for the area, ensuring data collected is accurate and error free
Provide support and evidence for insurance claim defence
Prepare, attend and if necessary, give evidence at court
To participate in a Performance and Development Review
