HGV 2 Driver

The position will be based in Milton Keynes, carrying out a mixture of deliveries to retail, and home delivery as part of a 2 man crew.

The Role

Report to the traffic office staff.
Drive in a safe, responsible and courteous manner at all times.
Carry out a physically demanding role, involving manual handling.
Comply with driver's hours legislation and all road traffic regulations.
Ensure that vehicles meet all transport legislation and defects are reported immediately.
Maintain a good working relationship with customers.
To attend any relevant training as required to ensure you remain fully equipped to perform your role effectively and to assist in the development of continuous improvement.
To be responsible for the Health and Safety of yourself and other operatives by adhering to safe working practices and the Heath & Safety to Work Act
Be prepared to be flexible and able to react to unforeseen issues
Show willingness to learn all Wincanton procedures and expectations of our customers and to pass this knowledge onto new and existing drivers.
A flexible approach is needed as the position will involve shift working (any 5 from7), including weekends.

The Person

Hold a valid HGV Class 2 driving licence with penalty points not exceeding 6.
Driver CPC essential.
Good understanding of driver's hours, WTD legislation and road traffic regulations is required.
Customer facing awareness.
Will possess a positive attitude to work, and the ability to work on their own initiative to specified deadlines.
Will be punctual and committed to the role.Assessments Required

The requirements:

You have a valid UK driving and HGV license.
Valid CPC
Valid Digi Card (Tacho)
Proof of National Insurance
Proof of Passport/ Birth Cert
Proof of Address (dated within the last 3 months)
