We are looking for a part time Health & Safety Officer.

Reporting directly to the Commercial and Finance Director you will hold H&S accountability for the Service team.

As Service Health and Safety Officer, you will coordinate the activities required to meet company standards and legal requirements. With a keen focus on compliance, you will contribute to improving the business and demonstrate the company values and behaviours.

The successful candidate should be able to act as an ambassador ensuring that all team members are compliant and meeting operating standards.

Main responsibilities:

• The administration of H&S training records.
• Provide training to the relevant employees on Health and Safety as needed.
• Manage and evaluate customer satisfaction surveys, recording and reporting findings and
solutions to the SMT.
• Maintain health & safety policy and keep up to date with risk assessments for engineers and
customers.
• Arrange engineer access to customer site
• Maintain Safe Contractor accreditation
• Provide information for customer and HSE enquiries for our MO function.
• Ensure Health & Safety is of the highest standard with key field service and workshop
processes, measures and communications in place
• Undertake other duties and ad hoc projects as required by the business

What are we looking for?

•Knowledge of The Health & Safety at Work etc Act 1974 plus applicable regulations

• Proven Health and Safety experience

• Proven confidence and resilience to deal with challenges from external and internal stakeholders.

• Must be able to multi-task, be detail orientated and possess strong analytical skills

• Exercises good judgement, knows when to flag issues and when to deal with independently

• Strong communication skills at all levels, both verbal and written and excellent presentation skills;

• Energy, enthusiasm and commitment are essential characteristics in this fast moving environment;

• Excellent motivator, self-starting, with an enthusiastic approach.

Additional Job Elements:

• Flexibility in working environment, office to food factory based environments
• Ability to travel U.K. wide, (including Ireland) for audits, training, Technician / Customer /
Sales support
• Ability to travel to Germany (or other countries) for necessary training / meetings
• Full driver’s license and valid U.K. passport
• Flexibility to cover absence of other H&S roles within the UK business

Terms:

20 hours/week
Monday to Friday
Flexibility may be required on hours to cover other roles during holiday periods.
Holidays 25 days (pro rata)
