Help us make a difference as Head of Corporate Sales within our Commercial function which is a role with National coverage.

To manage and support the corporate business development team whilst retaining personal targets.
Why it's an opportunity not to be wasted.
Managing the Corporate BDM function in all aspects to ensure revenue and profitability targets are met. Achievement of personal sales target.
Providing Coaching and mentoring each team member ensuring each BDM has a clear development plan and succession roadmap.
Developing, implementing and maintaining a clear sales strategy to ensure optimum exposure to potential corporate clients
Keeping abreast of new technologies and innovations by actively researching products and establishing contacts throughout the industry
Ensuring the team are knowledgeable and aware of latest industry developments, innovations and legislation
Developing contacts within the sectors to keep informed of the status of current and future new business projects
Attending Regional Meetings to keep up to date with existing contracts; identify development opportunities; and develop good working relationships with peers in other divisions
Nurturing business relationships with external groups, consultancies and to develop opportunities for the wider team
Supporting the Head of New Business on projects and overall sales strategy
Supporting the Company in achievement of the Biffa Balanced Business PlanRequirements
Here's what we require:
Education / Qualifications:
Educated to Degree Level or similar standard.
Strong Mathematics and English
Member of affiliated industry bodyExperience:
Understanding of the commercial procurement process
Proven success in Business Development at various levels
Demonstrable success in securing £1m+ contracts
Managing full end to end bid process
Proven success in mentoring junior colleagues
Sector specific experience, eg Brokers or FM providers
Demonstrable success in securing sub £1m opportunities eg large regional contracts
Line management experienceTechnical Knowledge:
Wider knowledge of current and future legislation and the impacts
Demonstrable understanding of financial models
Good working knowledge of the Microsoft Office programs, and in particular Microsoft Word and ExcelGeneral:
Leadership qualities
Excellent inter-personal skills and the ability to deal with individuals at all levels (both within the organisation and outside)
Able to analyse and provide guidance based on data gathering
Organised, structured and ability to develop clear and achievable sales strategy
Excellent written communication skills and a high level of numeracy skills
Diligent with a good attention to detail
Contribution to wider projects across the business
National travel required
Ability to work occasional unsociable hours and be flexible to deadlines.Benefits
