My client, a leading HS2 contracor, is looking to recruit an Environmental Manager in the Milton Keynes area on a long term contract basis to help advise and implement environmental policies onto the scheme.
Responsibilities:
Supporting the Section Environmental Manager and the Construction Team in ensuring all environmental, consents and sustainability matters, are implemented effectively
Working within the Environment Team as well as an integrated member of the Section Construction Team
Advising and providing guidance to the Engineering Team on relevant issues and concerns, helping to facilitate construction in a compliant manner
Assisting with monitoring, the production of, and implementation of permits and consents
Implementing environmental construction compliance policy procedures
Assisting with regular reporting and attend site to ensure that controls are being implemented
Promoting good practice relating to environmental management, environmental consenting, sustainability, sharing best practice and learning
Qualifications and Skills:
BSc (or equivalent) in Environmental Science, Geology, Environmental Management or related subjects.
Experience as an environmental advisor on a Construction or Civil Engineering project.
Good understanding of UK legislation and practical control of water pollution, waste management, ecology, soils and air quality.
Good understanding of chemistry as you may be involved in sampling and analysing lab samples.
Experience of monitoring and management for issues such as air quality, noise and water would be beneficial.
