The Role
As an EC&I Technician, you will be tasked with providing day-to-day maintenance, fault-finding and breakdown services for E/C&I systems at our Greatmoor EFW plant.
Aiming to maximise plant performance and availability, whilst working to the highest standards of safety and environmental performance, you will support effective systems and work to minimise downtime.
Working as part of a highly skilled team of technicians, you will:
– Perform troubleshooting, routine, preventative, scheduled and major repair maintenance
– Work on all power plant electrical, electronic, pneumatic, hydraulic, IT and digital control systems
– Test and calibrate EC&I systems and field equipment
– Undertake preventative maintenance, defect repair and interrogations on DCS, SCADA, PLCs, Analogue & Digital Instrumentation and Transducers, Emissions Monitoring and other equipment related to the site
– Ensure equipment complies with the environmental management system and consent requirements
– Complete quality control of all work associated with the department
– Co-ordinate and manage contract support organisations
– Participate in department training, development and staff appraisals
– Ensure that all EC&I activities, spares and information are correctly entered onto the system
– Provide technical support to Operations
– Carry out all equipment spares assessments
About You
To be considered as an EC&I Technician, you will need:
– At least three years’ experience in power generation industry operations and maintenance, including exposure to heavy process plant maintenance activity
– Knowledge of power generation operations and maintenance associated with steam turbines, boilers, balance of plant, electrical generation and distribution up to 33kV, plant control and instrumentation and computer aided maintenance management applications
– A good understanding of all HSE aspects, and ideally an IOSH Managing Safety certificate
– An ONC, City and Guilds and/or NVQ Level 3 in craft skills or process and/or thermal production operations, including a good level of practical operational and/or maintenance experience or knowledge
