Overview

The Customs Clearance Clerk the Processing of all relevant customs data and documentation to ensure the fastest possible delivery times

Requirements of the role:

Prepare and processing import customs declarations (free circulation, transit, special procedures) ensuring all shipments meet applicable laws and procedures to facilitate the timely and cost-effective import of goods.
Complete and post online customs clearance entries
Classifying goods according to the tariff coding system and determining custom tariff numbers
Requesting Long Term Supplier Declarations (LTSD)
Determining country of origin and calculating preferential origin
Maintaining a robust records system of relevant imports and export documentation (tax declarations etc) in compliance with company and HMRC requirements ensuring easy and complete access of files

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE We require a person who understands tariff codes, knows how to prepare a customs entry, how to find the correct tariff code for a new product; understands the whole piece of duties, VAT, duty deferment accounts etc. You will also need:

Minimum of 2-3 years previous experience.
Excellent communication, presentation and IT skills.
Will be able to build and maintain a good working knowledge of company products and services, customers, working practices and the computer software to perform the role.
Has high levels of Integrity and Drive
