Our Milton Keynes based client has a need for a “hand-on” Accountant to join their team and take responsibility for the day-to-day accounting function.

Reporting to the Finance Director, duties include:

* Responsible for maintaining accurate and complete accounting records for the company and for the integrity of the P&L and Balance Sheet accounts

* Responsible for all purchase ledger transactions for a number of sites around the UK

* Preparation of monthly management accounts

* Responsible for all bank and cash transactions, including accounts payable settlements via on-line payment systems, bank reconciliations

* Monthly analysis and reconciliation of Balance Sheet accounts inclusive of intercompany balances, accruals & prepayments, etc

* Supervising the sales ledger, assisting with reconciliations where required

* Completion of quarterly VAT return/reconciliations

* Dealing with ad-hoc reporting requirements

* Cash flow/forecasting on a weekly / monthly basis

The ideal candidate will have previous experience of operating in a hands on capacity and getting involved in the day to day transactional side as well as the wider accounting tasks. They will have excellent interpersonal skills, have strong Excel experience and be able to deal with multi-site accounting.

* £38,000 – £45,000 DOE

* Hours of work 37.5 hours per week, (Monday to Friday)

* 31 days holiday including statutory bank holidays.
