Insight Employment are seeking a Coldstore Operative for a client of ours in Milton Keynes.

Main purpose of the role: –

Reporting to the Coldstore Manager, the main purpose of this role is to ensure all warehouse operations are completed in a safe and efficient manager in the line with company policies, procedures and specifications.

Job Environment: –

This is an active role that involves being on your feet and working with your hands in a coldstore/factory-based environment where the temperature is -25c.

The role does require manual handling in some cases in particular when consolidating pallets in coldstore as required.

Qualifications: –

* Reach licence and recent experience

* CIEH level 2 Food Hygiene certificate

* IOSH working safely

* Working at heights

* MEWP licence (cherry picker)

* Fire Warden of First Aider certification desirable

Knowledge: –

* Fully conversant with coldstore /warehouse operations

* Awareness of hazards in the coldstore such as ice /movement of trucks

* Familiar & confident in using stock control IT programs such as AX ERP

* Fully conversant with stock rotation procedures & competent in all aspects of the replenishment operation

Skills: –

* Conducts oneself in line with Code of Conduct and client values

* Able to load/unload vehicles in a safe & effective manner

* Effective communicator with strong oral and written communication abilities

* Literacy & Numeracy – an understanding of basic calculations/weights/temps

* Attention to details

* Ability to carry out specific tasks with minimum of supervision

* Must have a methodical approach to work

Experience: –

* Minimum of 2 year experience in a busy warehouse

* Environmental driving Reach counterbalance trucks

* Knowledge of AX ERP highly advantageous

* Previously experience in a temperature-controlled environment would be desirable

* Ability to carry out high level cleaning/removal of ice

Hours/shift: –

40.5 hours average per week on a 3 on 2 off, 2 on 3 off shift pattern.

06:00 to 18:00

Rate: –

£11.80 per hour
