A quick look at the role
The Business Systems Analyst oversees the development and/or implementation of IT applications within Biffa. Reporting to a Senior Business Systems Analyst, this role is responsible for the specification, selection, development and testing of new systems, plus the enhancement and support of systems currently in use. The Business Systems Analyst therefore must have a good working relationship with key personnel in the business units to ensure systems are aligned to business needs and meet the priorities and objectives of the business.

Management of assigned projects, such as HR systems integrations, to co-ordinate the activities of all stakeholders and ensure that projects and tasks are delivered in line with agreed requirements.
Facilitate the progression and resolution of system support tasks for Whitespace, Springboard and ancillary systems, ensuring issues are gathered and clearly documented.
Perform robust IT testing on projects, ensuring developments meet the agreed requirements.
Detailed analysis and documentation of business systems and processes required to achieve the defined objectives.
Follow the agreed application change control procedures.
Promotion of the work of the IT department and cross-divisional selling of IT initiatives around the group.
Promote a partnership culture between the IT department and divisions/functions within the group including liaison with L&D for training literature and knowledge.
Provide advice and guidance to the business on best solutions and adoptions of systems and processes.Requirements
Educated to at least Batchelor Degree level ideally in a computing related discipline.
Prince 2 Practitioner (or equivalent Project Management experience).
Experience of facilitating and capturing business requirements in user stories and functional specifications.
Confident working with packaged system vendors, third party development organisations and internal development teams.
Able to work individually and as part of a larger multi-disciplined project team.
Data analysis skills to support projects assessment
Able to communicate at all levels and adopt a flexible, pragmatic & consultative approach
Excellent problem solving and decision making skills
Strong written communication skills and a strong attention to detail
Eager and willing to learn new skills to aid the understanding of the constant evolving technology arena
Ability to prioritise workload and projects for the successful delivery of requirements.Benefits
