This is a great opportunity for someone who is at this level to progress further within a growing finance team. This organisation promotes a positive working environment with great flexibility.

Description

The successful Assistant Financial Accountant will be responsible for:

– Main involvement in Statutory reporting, Tax and VAT, projection and insurance reporting.

– Liaise with the Management Accountant for monthly reporting

– Liaise with external auditors to review draft accounts

– Liaise with external tax consultants to assist in the preparation of the tax computation for inclusion in the statutory accounts

– Main contact for tax related queries including corporation tax, deferred tax, insurance premium tax and VAT

– Review the VAT postings and prepare and submit the VAT return on a quarterly basis

– Review projections process where needed to improve accuracy

– Weekly balance sheet reconciliations

– To assist in any accounts related projects

– Take ownership of all accounts related Office for National Statistics surveys, ensuring these are up to date and submitted within deadlines

Profile

The successful Assistant Financial Accountant:

– ACCA/ACA/CIMA part qualified or finalist is a must have

– Practice background is desirable

– 5 years plus experience within a similar role is desirable (specifically statutory accounting or tax)

– Ability to work independently and proactively, with a high degree of accuracy

– Result orientated, demonstrate effort, willingness and ambition to achieve results

– Strong knowledge and experience around tax and VAT

– Demonstrate expertise of Excel (Sum ifs, pivot tables, vlookups)

– Knowledge of large ERP system
