Copello are looking for a Principal Software Engineer for our client who have a powerful presence in the aerospace and defence sector. The role will be permanent, based in Buckinghamshire with the flexibility of hybrid working.

Responsibilities will include:
* Leading software projects to deliver successful outcomes on time and within budget
* Managing a team based in different geographical locations
* Software development life-cycles, processes and methodologies, including software configuration management
* Programming graphical components from scratch
* Real-time data processing and visualisation

To be considered for this role, you will:
* Hold a Degree in Electronics, Computer Science, Software Engineering or equivalent
* Be proficient in C++ with a solid understanding of Object Oriented design
* Have experience with Windows GUI application development using Visual Studio
* Have experience in software design and software life-cycle management
* Have experience of Agile development methods preferably Scrum
* Be familiar with the product lifecycle from system requirements, architecture, design, integration, qualification, verification, through to production and support

This role requires candidates who have previous experience within the Defence industry, and any Air Traffic Control systems experience would be highly beneficial.

The role is offering a salary banding of £55,000 to £70,000 (DoE) plus bonus and benefits. You must be eligible for security clearance.
