Russell Taylor Group is delighted to be working with their client who is a global provider of Testing, Inspection and Certification services for a diverse range of materials and products. The client is looking to appoint a Technical Officer – Fire and Acoustics to join their team based in High Wycombe, Buckinghamshire
Overview:
The client has an opportunity for a Technical Officer to join our growing fire resistance and acoustic testing team. This is a great opportunity to develop for the successful candidate to build on their career within a Global TIC business. Responsibilities:
Overseeing safe delivery of testing projects
Liaison with clients to ensure that their testing requirements are fully met
Liaison with test Technician teams
Defining test programmes and associated costs
Working closely with technical and certification departments to ensure seamless delivery of the test programme
Conducting tests in accordance with the requirements of the appropriate test standard, approved procedures and relevant risk assessments
Preparation of test reports complying fully with the requirements of the test standard and quality manual
Leading test teams on specific testing projects
Preparation of technical drawings using AutoCAD
Maintenance of laboratory equipment to ensure safety and quality are not compromised
Providing technical guidance where required or requested
Delivering the project within the agreed timelines
Qualifications:
Qualification in a science / technical subject or equivalent experience would be desirable but not essential
Educated to GCSE or equivalent in Maths and English to Grade C or above
Knowledge of AutoCAD
Experience of the building product testing industry or experience within the construction industry
Project management experience would be desirable
Excellent written communication skills, including report writing
Able to understand technical subjects and to explain them to others
Research skills
Demonstrable customer skills, including an ability to establish a quick rapport with visitors and clients
Good IT skills including Word and Excel
Confident decision maker
Methodical and measured approach to problem solving
Ability to learn quickly
Able to work extended hours at short notice for certain specific projects
An understanding of calibration and instrumentation
An appreciation of engineering and construction materials
Excellent attention to detail
Calm disposition
Well organised and methodical
Enjoys team working but can operate alonePlease note you must have a full clean UK driving licence as there will be a requirement to drive Company vehicles including FLT (ideally must have an FLT licence)
