Our Buckinghamshire based client, a Healthcare communications agency are on the hunt for a Senior Statistician to join their team.
As part of the team, you’ll be responsible for the following:
To drive the development and successful delivery of observational real world UK and global data collection projects for both pharmaceutical industry and NHS clients in accordance with Company policies, procedures and SOPs. More specifically, to input into study protocol design, data collection tools, analysis and reporting activities for our non-interventional research projects in both primary and secondary data.
* Provide statistical and methodological expertise into the development of project concepts, synopses and protocols (as relevant to experience) in line with project objectives
* Develop the statistical analysis plan for a variety of RWE projects in line with project objectives and endpoints
* Assist in the development of the appropriate data collection materials and data collation tools to support subsequent data analysis and reporting
* Undertake data analysis and production of tables in line with the statistical analysis plan
* Attend client and investigator meetings to discuss data and present results
* Assist with wider presentation and dissemination of data through supporting the drafting of abstracts, posters and manuscripts
* Work closely with the project team to understand project objectives and timelines to assist in the delivery of projects from start to finish
* Assist with client liaison as a representative of the company, to ensure successful project delivery
Additional responsibilities:
* Contribute to the continuing achievements and targets of the company through the successful delivery of projects to agreed standards and timelines
* Maintain thorough working records of all project activities
* Attend regular internal team meetings to facilitate a collaborative approach to all projects
* Maintain quality and accuracy in all project activities, following company Standard Operating Procedures
* Line management and supervision of team members
What you’ll bring:
Essential
* A demonstrable track record of substantial relevant experience of data analysis and reporting of healthcare data, either in the NHS, a CRO, pharma industry or academia
* Advanced statistical knowledge (minimum of MSc in Statistics or equivalent qualification/experience)
* Excellent programming skills in SAS
* Advanced knowledge of MS office software
* Extensive experience of statistical methods and concepts applicable to observational research (e.g. sampling, matching, bias, predictive modelling).
* Experience of data management, including electronic data capture
* Experience of presenting data in a variety of formats, appropriate to different audiences e.g. reports, presentations
* Good knowledge and understanding of clinical terminology and pharmaceutical products
* Fluent written and spoken English
Desirable
* Understanding and experience of healthcare data collection methodologies – audit, service evaluation and research
* Knowledge of CDISC (Clinical Data Interchange Standards Consortium)
* Car owner with a full driving licence
* Knowledge of health-related information systems and national healthcare datasets such as HES (Hospital Episode Statistics), CPRD (Clinical Practice Research Datalink), national registries etc
