We are looking to recruit a Lead Quality Control Technician (Microbiology) to join us on an initial 12 month contract.
You will be responsible for executing a range of Microbiology testing techniques including Bioburdens, plate reading, sterility testing, growth promotion and Inactivation’s in accordance with SOP’s and will lead other lab staff in complex investigations, implementation of CAPA’s and managing change controls
A minimum of 5 experience gained within a Quality Control testing environment is essential. Experience gained within a Microbiology lab within a pharmaceutical set up is highly advantageous.
Key Responsibilities Include:
* Testing of intermediate and finished products in accordance with GMP, dossier and where relevant, as per pharmacopoeia requirements.
* Microbiology testing and training of personnel (Bioburdens, plate reading, sterility testing, growth promotion and Inactivation’s) in accordance with SOP’s.
* Ensure all activities are performed in compliance with GMP, Quality Manual and pharmacopeia.
* Release of batches in accordance with lead times, escalating any potential impact to supply.
* Update SOP's and other GMP documents ensuring they are current and relevant.
* Promote safety within the laboratory areas, by raising safety observations, ensuring correct signage and maintaining COSHH documentation to prevent or reduce unnecessary exposure to hazardous substances.
* Lead cross functional investigations and support other lab technicians in complex deviations and CAPA’s.
* SAP – ensure timely completion of results in SAP and up to date specifications for microbiology lab tests.
Experience and Qualifications Required:
* Degree in Microbiology / Biology
* Minimum 5 years’ experience in Quality Control testing environment, preferably in Microbiology lab within a pharmaceutical set up.
* Laboratory investigations
* Multiple stakeholder liaison across different functions in a corporate environment.
* Protocol and Report writing
* Structured approach to troubleshooting
* Able to communicate at all levels and across all functions
* Ability to communicate concise technical information with clarity
* Good Time Management in a high throughput laboratory
* Flexible approach to changing priorities
* Attention to detail
