JOB SUMMARY:
As a Senior Innovation Scientist within the Global Natural Extracts team, you will be part of a team developing new Natural Extract products that provide flavour to foods and beverages. These products are based on global market needs combined with innovative processes. As a Senior Innovation Scientist, your key responsibility is to develop these new products and process, through project management and practical work.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Research and development (R&D) of new Natural Extracts and extraction processes
* Management and delivery of assigned R&D projects. This includes:
* Scientific literature and patents reviews
* Design, conduction and reporting of experiments
* Development of extraction techniques, and Natural Extract products from laboratory scale to manufacture
* Safe operation of and development of various laboratory and pilot plant equipment to produce natural extracts and flavors
* Development of products for customers
* Collaboration with technical and manufacturing teams to deliver products
* Collaboration with marketing and sales teams to assist product adoption into market
* To fully document work to the level of external publication and patent disclosure
* To develop communication tools for delivering new knowledge and products internally and externally
* Supervision and training of staff
SKILLS & ABILITIES:
* Externally recognized expertise in Food and / or Flavour Science

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
* Master’s degree or PhD in Science, Ideally Chemistry based.
* Proven experience of working in the food, beverage or flavour industry within research or new product development.
* Experience of flavor extraction techniques
