Our client manufactures high quality road marking materials for the Highway Construction and Maintenance sector offering specialist installation of a range of road marking materials and surface treatment products. They also provide full technical support including in-situ testing and monitoring for inter-company divisions and their clients.
Due to continued expansion and business reorganisation, an opportunity has arisen for an experienced, self-motivated materials specialist with an extensive background in polymer chemistry or a related discipline, to work at our well-equipped laboratories.
Responsibilities;
* Report to the Technical Manager
* Primarily focus on the research and development of new innovative products
* Offer support as required for current product improvements and quality functions including quality control and accreditations.
* Offer on-site support when necessary to locations across the UK and a full driving licence is therefore required.
Candidate profile
* Be able to demonstrate extensive experience in a research and development environment working effectively on your own initiative and equally well as part of a team.
* Previous experience of extensive patent and literature searches but with a “hands-on” approach would be advantageous.
* Minimum of a degree level qualification in polymer chemistry or related discipline and have sound technical and analytical skills.
* Well organised, methodical and committed to achieving the Company’s objectives in a fast moving and challenging environment as well as being able to demonstrate effective verbal and written communication skills required at all levels.
