The Role:
I am looking for a Band 6 Occupational Therapist, Clinical Scientist or Physiotherapist to join my client’s Integrated Wheelchair Service which undertakes assessment, engineering and approved repairs on wheelchairs.
You would be working from a service centre based in Milton Keynes and conduct assessments in clinic, people’s homes, day centres or schools within the area. You will provide a high quality, service user focused assessment and prescription of manual and powered wheelchairs to maximise function and independence by modifying standard equipment and prescribing appropriate pressure relief.
You will manage your own caseload of clients who have permanent wheelchair mobility needs and postural management requirements and will require knowledge of a range of medical conditions and physical disabilities. You will work within professional standards and clinical guidelines, promote best practice and undertake all aspects of clinical duties as an autonomous practitioner.
Having excellent interpersonal skills and a knowledge of a range of medical conditions and physical disabilities you will be supported in gaining skills in advanced clinical reasoning and problem solving, complex assessment, intervention and prescription of wheelchairs, seating and pressure relieving equipment.

Requirements for the Occupational Therapist or Physiotherapist: HCPC Registered Occupational Therapist, Physiotherapist or Clinical Scientist, Band 6
