Our Milton Keynes-based client is looking to recruit an experienced Medical Room Supervisor to join their team providing high quality medical and administrative support.
Position: Medical Room Supervisor
Hours: Monday to Friday – 37 hours
Salary: £18,330 – £25,843 per annum D.O.E
Roles and responsibilities:
Provide emergency medical support for students and staff
Develop individual healthcare plans in accordance with the Medical Conditions Policy
Maintain accurate accident records and emergency action plans and provide related reports as required.
Manage the secure storage, record and supervise the taking of prescribed drugs onsite in accordance with instructions provided by medical professionals.
Manage the secure storage, record and supervise the taking of non-prescribed drugs onsite in accordance with instructions provided by parents.
To act as first point of contact with parents with regards to medical issues and as appropriate arrange transport to hospital / doctors and or home etc.
Provide accurate medical and contact information to party leaders for groups taking part in offsite activities.
Support the development and delivery of First Aid courses for students and staff
Maintain the medical room and First Aid provision including specific training and up to date First Aid procedures.
Maintain first aid boxes and associated medical supplies for use on outings
Manage a budget allocated for purchase of medical resources including those related to Health Education / First Aid courses.
Contribute to the promotion of health lifestyles in students across the curriculum and support the delivery of the Health Education aspect of PSHE.
To deal with any immediate problems of emergencies according to the company policy and procedures
Contribute to the supervision of students in ILA, Time out, and the learning link
Staffing of the Students Service desk and carrying out associated duties
Administration in relation to the duties of the role
Any other reasonable duties requested
Knowledge and experience required:
First Aid / Nursing / Paramedic background
First aid qualifications (Further training can be provided)
Ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines
Experience of working within the education sector
Ability to multi task and prioritise workload
Exceptional communication and organisation skills
Self-motivator with a positive attitude
Ability to explain ideas clearly and succinctly
Meticulous attention to detail
Maintaining a high level of confidentiality
Excellent time management skills
Ability to produce reports and statistics
Experience of working within a fast-paced office environment
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
