Our client has an exciting opportunity for a Lead Medical Receptionist to join the team based in Milton Keynes. You will be joining on a full-time permanent basis and in return you will receive a competitive salary.
Our client is experienced in providing care for patients by supporting the NHS and practice owners with quality primary care service offerings. They are a CQC-registered provider of GPs, providing trust and assurance that clinical talent needs are always met flexibly, cost-effectively and safely.
About the role:
You will be responsible for the leadership and supervision of a team of receptionists, ensuring all reception duties are performed effectively and to the required standard, meeting the objectives of the practice. Support the management team in promoting ED&I, SHEF, Quality & CI, Confidentiality, Collaborative Working, Service Delivery, Learning and Development and carry out other duties as directed by the management team.
Your responsibilities as their Lead Medical Receptionist will include to:
Partake in audit as directed by the audit lead
Produce, maintain and participate in the receptionist rota for lunch, out of hours, holiday and sickness cover
Support reception staff development, providing guidance and direction, ensuring staff are up to date with mandatory training
Identify and provide team training where required
Ensure the completion of opening and closing procedures in accordance with practice policy
Support the health promotion lead and display promotional material on the allocated noticed boards and in the waiting room
Ensure an effective and efficient reception service is provided to patients and any other visitors to the practice. Acknowledge a patient’s arrival at the desk, if the situation is unmanageable at the time due to the number of patients waiting then advise the patients in the queue you will be with them as soon as possible
Actively participate in Practice Training to ensure you provide a high level of service for the practice. This will mean you may need to attend a training session outside of your normal working hours. You will be expected to do this to ensure that the safety of patients and the Practices adherence to the NHS Contract is achieved
As their Lead Medical Receptionist, you’ll ideally have:
2+ years’ experience as a receptionist within a GP surgery environment (essential)
Familiarity with SystemOne
Aptitude to handle a fast-paced environment and prioritise tasks based on importance
Ability to use own judgment, resourcefulness, common sense, and local knowledge, to respond to enquiries and requests while adhering to practice limitations.
Excellent communication and problem-solving skills whilst demonstrating empathy
Familiarity with Microsoft Office.
An understanding, acceptance, and adherence to the need for strict confidentiality
