Job Description
Job Title: Laboratory / Test Technician
Job Type: Permanent
Hours: 37.5 per week
Job Location: Milton Keynes
Remuneration: As Laboratory Test Technician, you’ll receive a salary of between £22,000 and £25,000 per annum, depending on experience.
As Laboratory / Test Technician you’ll be responsible for performing testing and analysis to recognised international standards, while adhering to documented laboratory procedures and recording raw analytical data for approval prior to issuance to clients.
Key Accountabilities;
* Demonstrate compliance with international and company approved test methods, procedures and quality systems. Essential criteria for ISO 17025 accreditation and adherence to SGS Laboratory Quality Systems.
* Report equipment / instrumentation failure to senior staff member to execute remedial action and thereby ensure continuity of service.
* Maintain organised and auditable systems of work to ensure compliance with UKAS 17025 accreditation.
* Delivery of allocated daily tasks within defined timescales to maximise operational outputs and efficiencies.
* Rudimentary appreciation and understanding of laboratory techniques and equipment to assure minimum quality and health and safety requirements are achieved.
* Assist in booking of samples and raw data entry to ensure prompt turnaround on sample analysis.
Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you’ll need recent experience of practical chemistry, mechanical, engineering or related science subject.
In addition to the above you’ll also need to demonstrate the following;
* Must be computer literate in use of MS Packages.
* Must have a rudimentary knowledge of analytical equipment and methods.
* Effective interpersonal, teamworking and time management skills.
The following attributes would be desirable, but not essential;
* Experience gained in a consumer goods or filtration testing laboratory
* Experience of working within a UKAS accredited laboratory
* Degree level in chemistry, engineering or related science based subject or equivalent.
* Full, current, valid UK driving license.
