We're currently seeking Laboratory Technicians based in and around Milton Keynes to work within a state of the art, high output diagnostics laboratory environment as part of the UK's NHS Test and Trace programme.
As well as playing a vital role in supporting society's return to a more normal way of life by helping to break the chains of COVID-19 transmission, you will also gain invaluable experience in a fast-paced and dynamic laboratory environment.

Your responsibilities:
As a Laboratory Technician you will be responsible for managing of samples from receipt through to sample processing and storage in line with laboratory processes, processing samples using Tecans, processing samples on the Kingfisher section, cleaning the laboratory, report equipment/process issues in accordance with relevant SOPs, working in accordance to laboratory SOPs and quality standards and any other reasonable task to deliver against the targets of all projects based at UK Biocenter. This is a key role within the laboratory and will involve liaising with Lab Operations Managers, Shift Managers and Section Leads to ensure the laboratory is always fully functional and can meet the throughput of the requirements of the projects.
A Laboratory Technician role will suit a proven team player, with experience of working in a fast-paced environment who is keen to develop their knowledge and skills
Your experience:
In order to be successful in the role of Laboratory Technician you'll need the following education, experience and skills:
Experience:
Good standard of general education GCSE science, maths, or English (or equivalent).
Experience of working within a high throughput processing environment.
Excellent attention to detail.
Ability to work and think methodically.
Pro-active attitude.
Ability to manage own workload and prioritise tasks.
Experience of working in a team to achieve an end goal.
Ability to work 12-hour day/night shift patterns.
Experience of working to quality management standards.
In addition, the following education and experience are also desirable but not mandatory:
