Lab Technician
Aylesbury / Westcott
£26,000 per annum Plus Pension, BUPA Medical Cash Plan, Life Assurance, 20 Days’ Holiday (rising with service)

Olleco is on a mission to help protect the planet. Working together with thousands of food service businesses, greenhouse gas emissions are reduced by hundreds and thousands of tonnes. We are now looking for a Lab Technician to join our team and help us to continue to do things the right way.
With over 700 colleagues in multiple sites nationwide, we supply premium cooking oils and collect organic waste, which is then converted into bio-methane, electricity, heat and organic fertiliser.

A little bit more about the role:
– Running two labs across two sites (Aylesbury and Westcott)
– Analyse raw materials, materials in process and finished products
– Prepare and standardise reagents
– Interpret data
– Train Process Operators in the use of lab equipment
– Work with colleagues to resolve issues
– Test and calibrate equipment

What are we looking for? As you can imagine, you’ll need a broad range of personal skills to succeed, but we don’t expect you to have everything from the start! We will coach, train and support you, it’s more important that you have the right interpersonal skills and the ability to grasp our business and take us forward.
We will be looking for:
– A degree level qualification in chemistry or biology and at least two years' experience in a laboratory environment; or an equivalent combination of knowledge and experience
– Knowledge of quality management systems, such as ISO 9001
– Experience with wet chemistry techniques
– Knowledge of continuous improvement programs and techniques (5S, Lean, TPM and Six Sigma)
– A full, valid driving licence in order to travel between sites
