My client develops, manufactures and distributes flavour and fragrance systems that are found in thousands of consumer products worldwide. The company's specialty systems are essential components of food, beverage, household and personal care products. Their value-added flavours and fragrances enable customers to excel in highly competitive global markets.
JOB SUMMARY:
This position sits within the global natural extracts team developing existing, and creating new, extract products and processes. These products provide flavor to foods and beverages.
As a Scientist in the team, your primary responsibility is to develop and create new products and processes, through a combination of project management and practical work.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Research and development of new extracts and extraction processes
* Delivery of assigned projects. This includes but is not limited to:
* Scientific literature and patents reviews
* Design, conduction and reporting of experiments
* Development of extraction techniques and products from laboratory scale through to manufacture and commercialization
* Safe operation of various laboratory and pilot plant equipment to produce natural extracts for customers
* Collaboration with sensory, analytical technical, and manufacturing teams to deliver products
* Collaboration with marketing and sales teams to assist product launch and market adoption
* Fully documenting work to the level of external publication and patent disclosure
* Management of project tasks and delegation where needed
* Developing communication tools for delivering new knowledge and products.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
* Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Science, ideally Chemistry or Chemical Engineering.
* Experience of working in the food or flavour industry, ideally within extraction, research, or new product development
