Business Development Manager – Companion Animal

Responsibilities:
This role is responsible for devising, developing and implementing profitable commercial plans to drive growth. This role is responsible for developing the business opportunities in the territory and achieving the turnover targets and profit margins set for the Companion Animal business.
* Responsible for management of Independent Customers, Key Accounts, Major Accounts and On-Line retailers located within the territory.
* Responsible for leading the company’s solution selling approach.
* Planning and overseeing new marketing initiatives
* New solutions and services development
* Cross functional team working – both UK and global
* Monitoring of market data and market intelligence relevant to the companion animal business
About You:
* Educated to degree standard or above (or equivalent experience)
* Knowledge of VTQ products and VTQ capabilities
* Relevant knowledge or background of the companion animal health industry
* Computer literate – competent user of PowerPoint, Word, Excel and Outlook, and using databases (for recording and reporting)
* Broad commercial experience in sales and/ or marketing
* Previous experience managing "Key Accounts"
* Diplomatic and persuasive, able to build objective lines of argument for action
* Strategic business development and planning
* Ability to network and influence senior people both internally and externally
* Commercially knowledgeable of financial targets in terms of costs, profits, market and added values
* Is open to new approaches and alternative means in order to accomplish results
