Our client, is a public distance Learning and Research University, and one of the biggest universities in the UK for undergraduate education.
They are looking to recruit an experienced Senior Social Media Manager to join their External Communications team within the Marketing and Communications unit. This role is an immediate start for three months, working 37hrs a week, this is working from home and equipment will be supplied. The hourly rate dependent on experience is between £21.58ph – £25.76ph.
The Senior Social Media Manager is responsible for leading a team of Social Media Managers that curate and create content, whilst also providing community management for the corporate social media accounts.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead the team, manage and support the workload of the team, allocating projects, prioritising work and deadlines.
Develop, build, and maintain relationships with key internal and external stakeholders to deliver against strategic priorities, whist maximising the impact of the social media team. Work across the channels linking paid, earned, shared, and owned (PESO).
Lead the team in creating integrated high impact social media content, campaigns and activities that promote the OU brand.
Protect the brand by, leading social media community management. Handle negative sentiment on social channels.
Skills and Experience;
Experience of leading social media teams to deliver first class social.
Can show experience of working social media channels including, but not limited to, Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, TikTok and YouTube and creating multimedia content to build reach and engagement with key audiences.
Has an integrated approach to campaigns, content and channels linking paid, earned, shared, and owned (PESO) where possible. Has experience of using agencies to provide best mix of inhouse and external resource.
Experience of monitoring and evaluating social media performance, providing analytics and measures, and working with tools like Hootsuite and Brandwatch that provide clear links back to an organisation's strategy.
Prior experience of community management on social media, handling negative sentiment and leading out of hours cover and rotas.

This role requires flexible out of hours working, including some evenings.
