Our client is a full-service creative marketing agency, specialising in technology.
They have a growing team of over 100 people based in four offices in the UK and overseas.
They plan, produce, and deliver marketing activities of all kinds.
They also develop and maintain their own software product.
The Role
Your job will be to write copy that helps clients sell their products and services. They are strongly focused on business-to-business technology marketing and you will be expected to have thorough knowledge and experience of this world, including marketing to the channel. A passion for technology is a pre-requisite of any role at the company.
You will require a deep understanding of strategic marketing principles and marketing communications best practice. You will often take the lead in defining strategy for new clients, and for the development of new campaigns for existing clients. Your ideas will need clear business cases to support them, demonstrating a strong grasp of the audience and how your messages will engage them and prompt them to act.
The role includes drafting long copy for brochures, white papers, data sheets, product sheets and 'thought leadership' documents; copy for press releases and feature articles; content for digital channels, including blogs, websites and social media; copy for direct mail packs; content for marketing automation campaigns; advertising copy; general copy for any other purpose, including editing/reviewing/repurposing existing content.
The role also includes working on concepts for pitches and new campaigns, often in partnership with an Art Director. You must be ready to take on responsibility for helping the agency to hit deadlines and reach its targets. This will often require flexibility and a willingness to work beyond office hours at short notice.
Skills & Experience
* At least five years’ experience in a professional writing role
* Able to work under pressure on multiple jobs while collaborating with your team and others from brief to finish
* Able to switch between strategic thinking and detailed execution
* Practical knowledge of marketing principles
* Understanding of digital marketing communications principles, including SEO
* Excellent ability and understanding of the differences between all written copy, from long-form to a tweet
* Excellent standard of written English, grammar, and punctuation
* Good proofreading skills
* Good knowledge of the technology sector
* Extensive experience of working in the B2B sector
* Meticulous attention to detail and an understanding of the quality their clients expect
* Good presentation skills and communication
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite
