Natural Balance Foods is a young British company best known for our Nakd and JC’s TREK brands. We are devoted to making delicious, genuinely healthy snacks…and having some fun along the way too! Founded in 2004, we have grown exponentially by offering consumers a healthy, wholefood alternative to the over-processed snack bars that previously dominated the shelves in UK Grocery.

About you
To help us achieve our growth ambitions we are looking for an energetic, fun and willing to learn Junior Product Developer. This is a new role to the business and reflects the businesses ambition to further grow the Nakd and TREK brands over the next 5 years. You will be joining a fun, friendly and hardworking NPD team and broader Marketing team.

Ideally you will have a passion for food and healthy eating and be an organised individual who is looking to develop their career within healthier snacking. As an entrepreneurial and fast paced business, you will be highly adaptable and as reward you will be able to make a real impact and grow your career.

As Junior Product Developer, you will have full responsibility for managing existing ranges development process. You will also assist NPD Manager in all aspects of NPD process and support running regular NPD forums. You will work in a fast-paced environment and work cross-functionally be help deliver projects to brief and deadline. As you will play a pivotal role in product development, you will be responsible for maintaining your knowledge of the food industry and trends.

Skills and Experience:
Alongside living our values of Healthy, Happy and Helpful, the most important things we’re looking for from you are:

* Positive and passionate about food and healthy eating

* Minimum 1 years’ experience of working on product development, ideally in the FMCG environment. Knowledge of snacks, bakery and confectionery areas would be advantageous.

* Experience with critical paths and development timelines, including chasing up deliverables.

* Organised, flexible, great attention to detail and a brilliant multi-tasker.

* Thrive in a fast-paced role and ability to adapt in an ever-changing working environment.

* Good MS Office skills

* Good communication and presentation skills

* Good practical cookery skills and good culinary understanding

* Knowledge of Food Safety Legislation/HACCP, Basic food hygiene requirement

* Driving license due to the location of our main office. Additional travel to supplier sites will also be required at times
