Head of Marketing and Audience Development
The Head of Marketing and Audience Development is a strategic, creative and proactive individual with fresh ideas and enthusiasm to promote MK Gallery, its exhibitions, programmes and facilities to new and existing audiences. The post holder will develop and implement an audience development strategy which spans on and offline marketing, customer relationship management, public relations and media. and optimises attendance, income-generation and partnerships.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and implement a focused and ambitious audience development strategy and supporting strategies including digital, customer relationship management and media
Devise and implement a planning framework that ensures cohesion and clarity of strategic objectives across individual campaign strategies, to drive footfall, increase income-generation and raise the profile of our programme offer.
Assess and develop MK Gallery’s brand and visual identity, ensuring consistent tone and messaging across all communications, embedding this across the organisation and leading the whole team in the delivery of this across all platforms.
Develop the regional and national media profile for the organisation by working with the in-house team, freelance national press representatives and by integrating this work with digital and online media work
Develop, deliver, evaluate and evolve audience development plans for each exhibition or project to grow our audiences and income
Develop and deliver individual, group and corporate membership packages and grow the Gallery’s support base.
Identify, reach and engage with relevant professional communities outside of our industry to raise the profile of our programmes and offerings.
Assess and report on the effectiveness of marketing campaigns against objectives, implementing contingencies where necessary and make recommendations for any improvement.
Develop a robust evaluation framework which can be used by all staff to assess and analyse the quantitative and qualitative impact of projects and programmes.
Essential Requirements:
Strategic thinking with experience delivering the planning of marketing campaigns, ideally across multiple channels
Experience of website content management systems
Good understanding of SEO strategies, social media and direct marketing
Demonstrable experience of running successful PR campaigns
Able to build and maintain media relationships
Experience of using CRM systems to monitor and optimise lead generation
A passion for marketing with an interest in external trends and developments
Experience of managing budgets and schedules
Strong evaluation and reporting skills
Initiative to lead on projects in a proactive and collaborative manner
Attention to detail in all work, with excellent administration and organisational skills
A team-player with excellent interpersonal skills
Ability to prioritise and work well under pressure with multiple deadlines
Willingness to work outside of normal office hours and weekends on a regular basis
Fully computer literate: word processing; spread sheets; databases; internet and email.
Desirable:
Experience of working within the Arts and Cultural sector
Membership of a professional recognised Marketing Body such as CIM
