Community Engagement Officer – Job Description
Introduction
We are currently looking for experienced Community Engagement Officers to join our client, Bedford Borough Council.
We are looking for Community Engagement Officers who are passionate about public health and are looking to develop their professional career within a Local Authority environment.
Main Responsibilities
1. Build relationships in the community that will support the delivery of essential Covid19 and health and wellbeing messages that will keep the whole community safe.
2. Seek to bring about behaviour and lifestyle changes that will have long-term positive outcomes for our community.
3. Engage Milton Keynes Council residents to reduce Covid19 infection rates, increase vaccination take up and encourage use testing kits.
4. Using a range of engagement techniques and tools: creating discussion forums, online surveys, having one to one conversations and meetings to build real insight into the community.
5. Building understanding of the Council’s overall health and wellbeing issues, based on data and insight, and establishing the pressing health inequalities facing those communities.
Requirements
* A good working knowledge of health and aspects of public health protection especially in relation to Covid-19.
* Milton Keynes resident or have very good knowledge of Milton Keynes.
* The ability to grasp new complex issues quickly, and have the ability to determine the key points.
* Must be vaccinated unless exempt.
* Eligibility to work in the UK
