Assistant Product Manager
Role purpose
To assist the Head of Home Finance in developing and managing the home finance offering, with consideration applied to the commercial, market and regulatory operating requirements (internal and external) through robust risk management, in addition to managing and influencing key stakeholder relationships. The role is primarily focussed on Retail Finance products, with support for other product types.
Key responsibilities
Assist the Product Manager in the management of the companys Home Finance offering – the development of new product strategies/propositions and ongoing management of existing products
Regularly research and analyse customer needs and the UK home finance market
Monitor market competition by comparing the company's products and criteria to competitors' products and make recommendations in line with business needs
Source data for product line communications by defining product marketing communication objectives in collaboration with the Commercial and Marketing team
Attend broker visits and events
Assist in the production of management information for short-term and long-term product forecasts, special reports and analyses
Work with colleagues across the Marketing & Communications team to develop marketing plans to support the companys Home Finance offering
Deputise for the Product Manager in internal and external meetings where necessary.
Skills required
Experience of product marketing in UK financial services – preferably in the home finance market (residential/buy-to-let)
Knowledge of best practice and governance frameworks, methodologies and emerging practice, in relation to the development and management of home finance products in UK regulated financial services context
Strong written and verbal communicator with the ability to influence and motivate others
Problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyse complex information to identify the key issue/action and drive resolution
Knowledge of regulatory environment and key regulatory regimes.
Previous experience of product management in the mortgage sector, (residential and BTL) preferably with knowledge of the Shariah market.
Additional Details
Full time, permanent position based in the Milton Keynes office. Typical working hours are 9am till 5pm Monday to Friday.
