Due to our continued growth, we are now looking for a Van Driver / Warehouse Operative to join our team on a 3 month temporary position, based in our Milton Keynes Regional Service Centre.  Working full time, 40 hours per week, the role will see you working predominately Monday to Friday with occasional weekend work. This role would be suited to someone who does not mind early starts as your working day will generally start at 6am.

As a Van Driver / Warehouse Operative, you will complete a variety of tasks which will include;

– Picking and scanning of customer orders within the warehouse

– Daily checks of vehicle and effective reporting

– Cleaning and fuelling of assigned vehicle

– Delivery of furniture to unmanned lock ups, customers houses, building sites and retail stores

– Manual handling activities such as loading and unloading vehicles

– Safe handling of furniture in line with good Health & Safety manual handling practice

– Checking deliveries against paperwork and administration of paperwork

The successful Van Driver / Warehouse Operative will need to be able to work well under pressure and be able to think on their feet. A transport background would be very useful, but moreover will have the following skills and requirements:

– Current valid driving licence – minimum Class B

– Must be able to communicate at all levels and be a good representative of Hammonds

– Have a flexible work approach

Our Van Driver / Warehouse Operative will receive a salary of £10.50 per hour with occasional overtime opportunities.
